How to Install Dynamics NAV 2015

Pre Requirements

Hardware Requirements

Hard disk space: 500MB
Memory: 1GB

Software Requirements

• Operating System:
• Windows 8.1 Professional or Enterprise (64-bit edition).
• Windows 8 Professional or Enterprise (64-bit edition).
• Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise (64-bit edition).
• Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard or Essentials (64-bit edition).
• Windows Server 2012 Standard or Essentials (64-bit edition).
• Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit edition).
• Internet Information Server 7.0 or Internet Information Server 8.0.
• The following features must be enabled:
• .NET Extensibility in IIS 7.0 or .NET Extensibility 4.5 in IIS 8.0
• ASP .NET in IIS 7.0 or ASP .NET 4.5 in IIS 8.0

Server:

• Windows Server® 2012 R2 64 bit
• SQL Server 2012

Additional Software:

• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2.
• Microsoft Report Viewer 2012

 (Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 Setup installs these software if it is not already present on the target computer.)

Microsoft Dynamics NAV is built on 3 Tire Architecture modal.

Dynamics NAV Server and the database both can be installed togather in one machine or can be installed separately on different servers.

Developers can install all Server, database and client on one machine.

Installing Dynamics NAV 2015

STEP 01: Run Dynamics NAV 2015 setup.

STEP 02: Click Next to process the installation.

STEP 03: After reading Terms and Conditions click “I Accept” button to proceed.

STEP 04: Select “Choose an installation option”

 
STEP 05: Click on “Custom”

STEP 06: Choose the modules you want to install

Removing help server will increase the installation speed.

STEP 07: Edit parameters as required
Make sure you enter the correct values for the following parameters

• Server Name - localhost (For Client installation you should specify the server name/ip of the machine which server is installed)
• Service Name - Any name (For Client installation, it should be the service name configured in the server machine)
• SQL Server - ip or the name of the machine which Database is installed
• SQL Server Instance - Name of the instance of the database
• SQL Database - Database Name

 STEP 07: Click “Apply” and then the installation will begin.

 STEP 08: After completion of installation, close the installation report.

 
STEP 09:

Go to start and search for Dynamics NAV 2015. Then you may see a screen like below.

This is called as RTC (Role Tailored Client) and Microsoft Dynamics NAV features a RoleTailored interface that is designed to provide easy access to the tasks performed by different business roles.
